I have a friend in Russia (no not a potential wife thing its a language and cultural exchange partner) He has sent me a ton of stuff to help me learn Russian (Rosetta Stone CD's, Russian movies and music CDs etc.) So I would like to return the favor and send a christmas gift but after reading about import tariffs and taxes and such it seems the easiest way would be to shop at an online store local to Russia and have them ship it locally. However all I can seem to find with a google search is flower deliveries for verifying if your Russian mail order bride is legit or not lol. Not at all what I am looking for. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get a good gift to him without all the hassle and extra taxes.
Online Stores local to Russia?
as a native Russian living in Russia i can suggest trying these two links below (both in Russian, you can practise it there :); the first one is much like amazon.com and the second ships stuff like DvDs, CDs, games and records from the US;
they accept international credit cards and deliver goods by mail anywhere in Russia; for big cities like Moscow and St Petersburg they have offices where you can pick up stuff;
i think it's possible to order a gift delivered, but you need informantion like name, exact address and phone number so they can get in touch with your friend
